I'd suggest getting in and playing around some as there's been some larger changes that might be better to learn now rather than wait until a new world.

Nobody knows when the next reset is. Something could blow up and the world gets reset next month, or the next major development milestone might be the only reason to have a reset... and it could take two years. Resets will be posted in the Announcements section. The last few worlds have seen about a month or so advanced noticed so people can plan and do the "take a personal day or two at world start" thing.

Never really understood the "I don't want to play late world" mentality.

The highest quality of goods are available for you to ramp, most of the shittier players have given up, it's easy to get decent quality livestock, and it's a good time to practice and plan for next world.

Even some of the more dedicated botters have stopped playing making it so you can actually get your hands on some decent resources.
