How to Destroy Pali Inside Claim

I need to remove a portion of a pali inside my claim (it was originally an outside wall). I've put a wrecking ball next to it, but after two days the only option is "dismantle". I've tried "destroy" but nothing happens when I click on pali. Am I stuck with a solid wall now? (And having to go outside, around the corner, and back in to new section of farm.)

Anyway, ensure you have aligned your wrecking ball correctly, see wiki article.

Also, I found catapults quite handy for removing old wall segments.

I've done this is the past, on other worlds. Put the wrecking ball in place, return in 24 hours to a message about a siege engine on the claim, use the ball, curse when damage cascades farther than you want.

(No idea how to post images here, if there isn't an "attach" option I don't bother.)

You'd check it right after assembling.

Always check for the "wreck" option after placing+assembling a wrecking ball to make sure its properly placed.

just turn it over and that's it, when it's in the right position the "wrek" option is visible right away, no need to wait a day

Thanks for the input, I'll try again. I take there is no longer a waiting period before using a wrecking ball (haven't used one since two worlds ago).

Addendum - in position and ready to use but - "The wrecking ball must have time to set before use, in three days". I assume that is three game days, thus 24 hrs real time.

Actually is just under 22 hours, but 24 will work to.

Success. Oddly I received no notice of a siege engine on my claim, though I always have in the past, even when I put it there. And of course the damn thing cascaded forty tiles in one direction, damaging a cornerpost, and only went about six tiles in the other direction.

its bc they cant be used offensively anymore (as far as i know) need claim permissions to even place them

Interesting. My north farm was raided recently, no major losses, it was only used for grain fields and tree farm. But I was there one day and all was well, returned about 12-15 hours later and north wall had been breached; no notice of siege engines ...and I thought they had to sit 24 hours before use. Whoever was there just did random destruction and left - destroyed one house, left another and a stone hut untouched, destroyed a couple dozen drying racks in one place left about three dozen in another, destroyed an empty chicken coop and rabbit hutch, left three tar kilns standing. FWIW, claim was strong, extended at least three tiles outside pali in each direction.

I didn't build the place, previous owner abandoned it, left gates open, permissions down, and key on wall in house. I occupied it months ago, merely changed locks, chopped down claim post, and put up my own.
