Do you get ore in a cave everytime you hit the wall and the hourglass runs through?

Edit: I found Iron Ochre in a brownish stone overground near a mountain. Its the same stuff you got.

The way it seems to work is that you first dig away the wall, then any tiles after it will net their proper resources. Which feels kind of scary considering how cave-ins used to work, but it seems to be safe.

Sometimes you see tiny particles falling down after mining out a tile. I would assume that these are the indicators for potential cave-ins; haven't tried digging after seeing that in a mined out tile, so I can't confirm, though.

Cave ins can happen on surface walls, literally looks like the cave just took a giant shit on you.

Doesn't seem fatal, but they seem common as fuck.

But was that on a normal surface wall, or a surface wall next to an already mined out tile?

Normal surface wall. Was literally the second one to collapse.

Friend I know also had a cave in on a normal surface wall, and he'd only made like 1-2 collapse before that.

Charcoal can be made in the tarpit kiln. I've not seen how long it takes to burn. (day, 2 days?) I've seen someone post they found actual coal by mining.
