If you logged on during the night, you knew what the lunar cycle was. I'm surprised nobody set up a system to track it. Fishing was just a newbie activity, anyway, except for eels for people trying to grind PSY.

This morning with a backpack full of dragonflies I got about 14 fish in 30 minutes. Mostly Asp and a few silver bream and roach and my first eel. This was with a qa 10 pole and parts in river depths.

Yea seems that leeches can occupy slots that have equipment in it and in turn knocking them out of that equipment lost.

much like the ants use to do in legacy with your wood shoes

Anyway... I decided to head back out onto tears lake but only after i upgraded my fishing rod...

essence 12
substance 14
vitality 12

And then discovered something interesting..

all the fish i caught had a quality value of 10

except Burbot

Burbots quality ranged from q10 to q14
and its only the substance that went up the other two is still on q10

Could it be that your fishing rod's essence substance and vitality influence the same attributes of the fish?

or

Could it be that Burbot's quality is determined by substance and lets say perch is determined by Essence for example
Meaning that if my fishing rod had a Higher Essence quality i would catch higher quality perch?

Thoughts anyone...

No idea what Q equpment you're using. you didn't mention this. No idea what Q fishing node your at (all foraged/wild items should have their own Q field now, or at least most do.) No idea what your survival is (traditionallly hardcapped the fish caught).

It's most likely you're at a spot that is quality for that fish, but not any others. See recent patch notes for basis of this theory. (Plus it's the design they went for in Salem so no one spot was perfect.)

Grabbed a cart that i pre stocked with dragonflies and have been pulling catfish out by the dozens.

So looks like good time for car fish is in the morning sanding on shallow casting into deep with dragonflies.

I've had some odd experiences with fishing. At the same node I fished entrails and recieved pike and asp, some small stuff. But when I tried the same node with all worms... holy crap I was catching some great stuff. I got like 6 eels and some other 1x2 fish can't remember the name but it was great. Completely different than the first fishing runs with entrails.

Also tried dragonflies, they seem really nice, can't remember what I caught but noticed it was better than entrails.

+1 to the moon cycle still probably being a factor.

---------------------------------

My issue is I found a nice small lake and it has a fish node but it sucks. 3 fish in the last hour or so while I was afk.... It might have something to do with stats / skills effecting chance to catch stuff (i get lost bait to fish alot). I'm using a new char with crap stats so. I'll try fishing with my better chars and report back.
Ohhh that's how I make a sig, cool
