How to delete cliffs?

The blue dots in the red field mean you need to place dirt to level the area. If you want to dig it out move the slider in the middle of the survey until you see green dots on that area that you want to level too.

change cameras (one of the mods has this as an option, I think, or will likely have it soon). Note these use console commands which is opened with the colon ":" key. Don't enter them into chat.

free camera: type ":cam bad"
Orthogonal camera: ":cam ortho"
Orthogonal camera without fixed positions*: ":cam ortho -e"

*this is as I understand from a post loftar made. You can turn it freely through 360 deg. I could be wrong.

On the subject of digging...is it possible to dig down to a cave level or will you just hit some sort of solid rock terrain?

you have to build a mine hole to get to the next level down. Otherwise, you may just be digging infinitely. (maybe should be a thing, though? question is how to properly implement it.)

A plow will destroy cliffs. Accidentally plowed through one once. Looked silly as it went straight up the cliff side and it turned to plowed land.

Isn't this considered a bug even though it works for now? (Might stay this way for a while with the mountain of bugs to be fixed.) I hate to see people get attached to a bug and expect it to be a feature when it gets changed.

To destroy them I just used survey land and let it auto fling dirt to fill cliff bottom. Or dropping dirt at cliff base works fine.

Ehm, how does one go about creating cliffs?

It shouldn't be possible now with one of the October or late September bug fixes. Plans to eventually add it as a feature have been mentioned, but no time frame.
