This isn't proof. It's only proof of where you found it. More corroboration is needed before it can be taken as actual evidence of fact.

As much as I'd like to agree, I disagree. It'd be better to have a list of biome based seeds so people dont bash their head against a wall trying to find Barley in say, a swamp or a grassland whereas first 3 WWW I got from that picture were Barley.
But yes, more testing is needed to say that seeds are 100% biome based.

I did finally found barley there.

Thanks :) I suppose this is one step closer to confirming it.

Gathered 16 WWWs from the yellow biome, 4 of these turned into barley seeds. This is as opposed to the 50+ WWWs from other biomes that only yielded 1 barley seed.

Tea is a bush now as it should be. You can find them on at least various grasslands.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

I conducted a new experiment.
8 WWW from the dark green forest biome
8 WWW from the dark green grasslands
8 WWW from the dark brown forest

I made sure to keep 'em organized and dried each lot on different racks.

All seeds from each biome are as follows:

Dark Green forest: carrot and pipeweed
Dark Green grasslands: beetroots and peppercorn
Dark Brown forest: pumpkin and onions

If I had any doubts that they're biome based, I've now erased these doubts. At least for myself.

You need to compare apples to apples here. Those tests do not counterdict the old style of "region based, not tied specifically to a biome just an area"

Dark forest vs dark forest that are geographically separated needs to be tested.
