No, Avu is wrong, the tree only needed 3 tiles between it and another tree in legacy

Could be. Always did it 5*5 beause it's easier to place them eficiently in a grid.

I don't have any pictures, but I always planted the tree in the center of it's own 3x3 plot of land, and then each 3x3 was separated from the next by a line of pavement. Obviously you needed to add more spacing for pine trees and their three logs in legacy though
