If you want a lot of hive products, a large field of carrots has always been the way to go. It's what xcom did his testing with in w6.

Yeah, beets don't appear to flower ingame, but the do flower IRL.

One difference: Planted crops do not influence hives at all. I think this means the first stage of growth is always unboosted for example.

?? I'm sure my hive has produced honey during my replanting.

I think that is just passive honey generation rather then produce by planting. Even skep inside a house produces honey.

Tested a few times but planting doesn't seem to produce honey.

i think 50 charged per 6h is enought explanaiton

i myself do this thing:
i plant near 50 every crop type around beehive
or, same crop with 6h time gap

so, beehive got near 400 tiles
http://clip2net.com/clip/m437235/5cf4a- ... ?nocache=1

and if we plant:
50 carrot
50 beetroot
50 flax
50 carrots after 6h
....

so all crops have different grow timers, i don't really knew them
but different crops means more chance for different timers

so, after 4 h maybe we will have 50 ticks from first carrot (then will be 6h recharge)
then after 12 h from start beetroot will have 50 ticks (then again will be 6h rechage)
then after 19 h flax
and the again carrot and etc...

so this will maximes 50 ticks per 6h and we will probably get some wax

it is rather hard to make best formula for it, i'm ok with this plan now

How do I make beehives? Do I need straw for it? How do I get wheat/straw? None of the WWW turned into wheat seeds so far.

Different things come from different areas so you need to broaden your search. Don't just forage WWW's right around your neck of the woods. My best advice is to walk straight in one direction picking nothing but WWW's until your bag is full. Then the next time go in a different direction and do the same.
