You do not click on the animal to shoot them, you click the tile below their feet.
Total misplay.

I didn't believe either until I was running along at speed 3 already and decided to chase down a rabbit without bothering to walk up to it first. I actually sped up more without going to speed 4. I'm not sure it was equivalent of 4, but it was faster than the rabbit.

I've aimed at the rabbit, the tile below its feet, and even auto aimed by clicking with the shoot cursor on its portrait in combat, always on a flat surface, and I can't manage to hit it.
I find it extremely easy to hit full-size animals using any of these three methods, however the rabbit's extremely small/lack of an actual hitbox makes it (at least nearly) impossible to hit.


You're much better off one-shotting foxes and deer, they give more meat, bones, and hide anyways

You have x2 speed when chasing rabbits. You can catch them with ease at speed 3

Most rabbits, some take off at around speed 5, I doubt a boat could keep up.
