A custom client might be more handy as you can just give us the error logs from it if you run it through a bat file.

I had attempted to us the other popular client, that I now cannot remember the name of as it didn't work when trying to download the files.
However it did not come in a pre-packaged zip file. So I am assuming that you are correct in that there is something blocking my connection to the default client files.

From this description, you may have some connection issues. These can be hard to diagnose, though. If you're on wireless try plugging in an Ethernet cable. You're router could be configured poorly. You could have some sort of security software somewhere along the line interfering. It could be your service provider.

Do you have DSL? If so: lower your MTU to 1492.
