you can also look at the history tab to see when it was last edited.

it's not hard, make an account and everywhere edit buttons pop up, when you click on them you get a notepad version of the page where you can just type stuff in. you don't really have to worry about layout, even information (that you're sure about) blatantly typed in somewhere on the page helps a lot (ie in the notes section). most of the time you can just follow the example of things already there.

threads like this help out too, i usually make a note to add something on the wiki when i read these.

Yeah, or resurrect the inactive wiki thread and post there, so that the common updaters can fish good info

I'm gong to add in with known depths of certain ores, because the wiki's data is lacking. This is based only on my limited experience so take the rarity with a grain of salt. I don't mention an ore at all if I've never seen it in that layer. For example, I've never seen Casserite anywhere other than the cave level and never seen Malachite outside of level 3, but malachite seems to be quite rare so it's hard to test. And I've barely scratched level 5. It would be great if someone who's done more mining could help.

Black Coal is available everywhere, but does not form boulders.

I've never seen Leaf Ore, Silvershine or Horn Silver.

Speculating about how rare an ore is seems useless as jorb more or less confirmed that its grid dependant. I could say silvershine is common on l5 and black ore is rare but for other people that's not the case. And while some ores dont start until deeper layers, the more common ores dont stop when you go deeper. I have heavy earth on l5 and galena all the way from l2 to l5 as well chalcopyrite.
