Getting Boars

Wow that boar killing method sounds like a real waste of my time, I have more important things to do outside of this game. I guess ill just have to be patient and grow pumkins. What are "yellowfeet"?

Actually it's pretty easy... you can do that with 10 marksmanship, a quality 10 bow and quality 10 arrows. Get in a boat, equip the bow, have arrows on your inventory (you can make arrows using stones or using chicken/rabbit/squirrel bones, and after killing some boars, using their bones aswell), roam by the river system untill you find a boar near water. Aggro it, but don't get close to shore water or it'll be able to hit you. Aim and shot (hint: move the camera so it's facing the cam, and aim slight under his face, just slight). When he gets hit, he'll start running. You can either peace it and wait for it to come back, OR you can chase it on running speed using punch move to bring it down. When running, i've never seen then putting a defense up, so it might be pretty safe and you would have boars for dinner (I used to do that with 10MM, q10 bow, q10 arrows, 4 unarmed combat, 10 agility, 10 str and never got hurt)

taming boars only gives good roasted meat. no suckling maws, milk or anything. just meat which takes a long time to get up to a decent quality

my suggestion is to work on other things before taming a boar. like get some armor and higher exploration/perception. you can get strength from most mushrooms
with armor of over 30 you can pretty much ignore most of the attacks the boar has >>

with even 10-20 armor just use quick dodge and jump and it shouldn't be able to hurt you unless you trigger the tusk romp. shield up and zig zag maneuver is slow and they can break them quite quickly. use left hook to get around the tusk romp

I'm not looking to tame them. Just to kill so I can get the strength meat. My friend needs strength so he can mine and I need strength so I can hunt more. Getting strength is kind of a bottleneck for our town right now; it's been about a month and our strongest member has 14 strength . We're really getting desperate.

Why you do not kill these with arrow bows? A fresh babe can kill the boar.

I would suggest getting a clear line of vision of the boar, running as fast as you can upto it (since they don't always aggro) and feeding it a clover from as close as you can get to it, worked for me last world. Goodluck.
