Also thank you burinn for that explanations and links, i've passed my eyes on them but never read it properly, have done now and took notes (;

No problem. Also should mention to you that you will probably want to have each character on different account. This way you can log in to many of these character at the same time.

Clothes do not matter as much now since gilding patch, see: gilding patch notes and gilding on wikipedia.

list is about right, but i would change a few things

one thing i wish i did was get perc on my miner (and exploration, but thats easy.. hard to get perc after having high/capped str). its always nice to get glimmers while you're down in the tunnels mining. definitely not a necessity but more of a luxury.

i would also recommend Not going for high survival for your forager. just high enough to forage anything without capping and maybe butchering lower q animals if your forager also has combat (not a bad idea either.. since you spend lots of time exploring for forageables, you'll often run into animals). But since some animals can get as high as 300q, i would not want to risk a char that has near cap survival on common forage runs

if you do a lot of farming, i would also maybe recommend a farmer char. once you get the initial int, you wont really have to worry about stats (and by extension, you wont have to worry about the hunger bar). the more skills you need at 200+, the harder it will be

and this is why H&H will never reach it's full potential.

correct me if I am wrong, but I really don't see J&L agree with the use of alts. I could see back in legacy if you were going to be alone your would, at the bare minimum, have 2 alts(one industry and one nature) but even then I feel that they would rather you join a village or whatnot to find the player that "compliments" your skills.

now, it seems like everybody and their brother have at least 2 fighting alts.

I also hear that if you are in a good village, you could replace your char in under a week.

You cannot replace all chars under a week, some people have 15-20M lp chars and unless you can pump an average of 90-120k/h over a week you just can't replace those, even 2 weeks would be extremely short.
Gilding made the alt spam easier, by reducing the lp needed for them to be useful, especially foragers. With 30 expl 30 surv you can get 60 expl 60 surv and you already have a good-cheap forager for under 100k lp (a bunch of hq carrots for easy PER). There, why go out with a several M lp character to forage if 100k is enough, some people do, but you clearly don't have to.

Thank you foomanchu, i've taken notes (;

jojo one thing is certain, having just one is a pain in the b**t because there are to many things that difer alot on stats and having a general char as i have now, the soon i get raided, killed, etc i lose everything and while people get quality and other things higher faster because alts, i would have to wait 3x more to have that same q.

overall i think alts are a way to go if playing alone like me :D

well about the replacement of characters, I can only go on what has been pm'd me and on what I have observed on the forums. so unless others with more experience in the death/replacement of character model would like to step up and speak, I will concede that point.

now, do you endorse the whole "alt" concept or do you condemn it? Because I cannot tell where your feelings be.

now on to hery76

unfortunately I agree on your thinking. but I still wish that J&L would make a way in which it was Very VERY cumbersome to have alts. oh the very least, the whole concept of "foot soldier" alts not a thing.

I said it before and I will most likely say it in the future. The game loses its best characteristic when it gets more like the World of Warcraft battlegrounds of old.
