Those changes have already been merged into the mainline client; that's why the file doesn't exist anymore.

In OP's case, the problem is most likely the GeForce 405, which is such a budget card that it wasn't even available for general purchase. Certainly one could argue that the client should have options to lessen GPU load, but nevertheless, that is most likely the problem as it is.

As for the sound stuttering, you may want to play around with the audiobuf command.

Java is not even the biggest issue.

Try disabling shadows in Video Settings for one. That has rather significant difference even on better GPUs.
Disabling flavor objects might help too but it will also disable the music.

I tried talking my parents into not buying pre-composed PC, but unfortunately my usually wise father couldn't see that he could probably trust my and salesman's research skills to extend of finding some better rig and still have local warranty. Also he was under a superstition that pre-composed rigs last longer because their components are dedicated to each other, lol. Well nobody is perfect. Also it was probably my fault too because I could swear it was GeForce 450 (which was very decent at time IIRC), and I realised too late. To Nvidia marketer who clearly named those cards on purpose, I hope they prepared special place for you in hell.
So if you wonder how somebody gets a completely shit card, that's how.
Ya bloody entitled kids probably have to work like 30 fucking hours picking strawberries to get a new computer, and I will have to work 300 provided I'm lucky, so don't nag me about getting a job, I'm working on it : ), commies destroyed muh country

I liked particularly when there were no less than four different cards named "GeForce 630", all with wildly differing performance characteristics.

Show father this website and say that nonprofit organization of researcher does workings to find components that are dedicated to each other.

@ Mateusz_Zboj

Check your Motherboard manufacturer, model + version number + Power Supply Specs ... i prolly can help you with a better graphic card for free (minimum GTS 8800 PCIe) if compatible ... shouldn't be a problem to get it from germany to your place (my flatmate is polish working here and his family lives in poland ...)

About all you can do is look into upgrading from you 400$ Baked potato up to a possibly less baked 800-900$ potato.

Paid $300 for a refurb over two years ago. Has no issues running the game. Low fps--around 15 or so, drops to single digit with lighting options on. A6 APU processor, 4GB RAM. I could build the same system now for under $200 if I were to dig through the used parts bin. I can get together a middle of the road game system for $400 US*. It won't run full 1080p well, but will play everything on the market for the next year or so.

When buying computers, it's more about knowing what you're looking at and what different hardware is and isn't going to do.

Wow didn't except such positive response, ya know me being the usual malcontent. :D
Also the sound buffer command is working as intended, big change.
I'm actually getting like 20FPS, which is just slightly below fine right now. Provided I turn off everything else and pray to my potato GPU not to pull of some weird shit while I'm running from ants.

This actually isn't too bad from some of the posts I've seen. If I understand correctly, even high end hardware may not be getting significantly better.
