Keep in mind that cows and horses are much larger than pigs and sheep, so you might want more room for those if you are planning on keeping roughly the same number of each animal

What kind of gate is that?? Are you using custom graphics? I just started playing Hafen though I played legacy so I haven't seen that type of gate before lol

It's a roundpole fence gate. She built one and then knocked down the cornerposts around it and built the trellises next to it to look flawless.

I think the problem is that if you aren't careful, baby animals or small animals can sometimes squeeze through any unclosed bounding boxes. As long as you press Shift B ( Amber client ) and enable bounding box visibility, you can double check and make sure all the items' boxes blocking in your fence are flush to each other. That way nobody can get out. I think i had a baby horse escape this way because i did't have something on the corner of a fence and it got out. Luck be had though, someone found it wandering around way south of me a few hours later!! so i'm very sure to get my bounding boxes right, now.

Talking about that, how can you avoid that a baby animal grows and breeds with his mother?
I have an hight q male sheep and a low q female sheep. They gave me a medium q baby sheep, and I keep him near to his mother to let him feed. I didn't know his sex (is there a way?), when he grew he bred whit his mother (and I didn't want that!)

Can I keep baby animals in a near but separate fence? Or divide mother from children with heart fires?

On the subject of breeding, what's the best way to breed for quality? I've always just kept 4-6 of each animal and had them pregnant constantly for more dice rolls. Is that the best way or am I draining my will to live for no reason?

Inbreeding is rampant on my farm I didn't even consider keeping them apart lol

I pick the best male (what ever percent I want raised and breed q) then I keep 4 or so female with high breed q and seems to work well idk the best way but figured I'd share that
