Questions about fighting animals and taming

New system is on from a couple of days, no way to find more infos as many ppl are still trying to figure it out.

so, I am killing bats easily now. Each one gives me 1hp damage overall even though my armor items don't get any wear on them.

once I wanted to shoot a fox, usually I kill them with one shoot but that one got no damage and aggroed on me but I managed to punch it to death although got something like 20 hp damage and had no armor on me. The next step will be taming a mouflon then.
I have Q~20 bronze plate and a winged helmet, so I guess it is manageable now.

All I do is constantly pressing buttons (1-4) where 1,2 and 3 are basic defense moves and 4 is punch.
