And even if someone does attack you their stats won't be that great so you stand a good chance of getting away or actually defending yourself for once.
So for a while everything will be open. No Pclaims. No Vclaims. Nothing. The world will be free for all of maybe an hour or 2. Then with quest spamming (honestly think there should be a cool down on it now) and curios etc within 1-4 days things will REALLY get interesting. I expect to see early wars as people race to claim high Q resource nodes or just try to establish themselves.
This is honestly the first time ever I will be playing at world start. And the thrill of it has me even wanting to spend the 30$ when I get paid to give myself the best chance. I may even go full blown with a village this time and try to wrangle a few more people. Or I may just hermit myself again and see what happens. I got through most of W9 without losing my main and I want to keep that record going.
I mostly have a plan of action ready to go. I just won't start recruiting until I know what I have and what I can do. I don't want to promise all the riches in the world to only have pennies coming in. This world my plan is to make something as memorable as Sevilla. This will be the world I hopefully make my mark in HnH.
Since W10 will be my third time playing at world start, lemme tell you, there are people that can get LP FAST. At the start of W9, i'm pretty sure there was a gang of five people that all had Rage on like Day 2, they called themselves the sombrero bandits, and they ran around wearing nothing but a cosmetic sombrero, and senselessly murdered people for no reason.
And i think someone managed to get cast iron at like the end of Day 1. Then right when W9 started someone found a gold (or silver, can't remember) ore boulder, and had gold/silver really early on.
One of the things you should do first is look for localized resources, specifically the most useful ones like the dead tree roots (can't remember the name) that heal some of your wounds instantly, heartwood leaves, because they are an extremely good PER, farming and cooking guilding, and possibly mother of pearl. When you're ready to find somewhere to get a permanent base up, try looking for an area with brimstone and/or blue clay nearby. The other LR would be nice to have nearby too.
I'd advise you to build a base near a large, dense forest for a good wood supply, and inside some sort of grassland. Grasslands spawn chickens, early game food, bones and feathers for feather trinkets and dusters, and i'm pretty sure foxes spawn there too, which give INT meat, and some nice quality bones for early game. Being near some sort of body of water will help TREMENDOUSLY, but remember to NEVER base NEXT to the river. Raiders like to row around in boats, looking for bases near the river to raid. Being far away enough that no part of your base can be seen from the river will help with protection.
The skills you need to get up soon, is exploration, at least to 10-25. You'll be able to see alot of foragables, and you shouldn't need to upgrade it for a while. Survival should also be put to 10-25 to help with the quality of basically all early-game stuff. UA is very useful to protect yourself, so around 15 is very nice to have, especially since you should be able to kill ants with that much, without taking too much damage.
Be safe out there, folks.
