Like people said fir, mulberry, apple and also remember about poppycaps (new addition) and tea bushes.

In general wood is a seccondary product of treeplanting, soon you're going to have much more wood than you need as a byproduct of grinding quality so concentrate on trees that give something more than just logs.

And yes, for the big structures it's often easier to grow the desired wood type rather than finding enough trees of a certain type in the wild. In this case q doesn't matter (with the exception of knarr).

No, but putting the hood up still gives stealth last time i checked. In my opinion, don't waste your gold on one. Last world, i found one in beach trash, probably because someone made one and realized it's trash. But it did have a heartwood leaf on it, and it looks cool too, so i wore it anyway. but save your gold for some rings or something.
