It's stupid to have an inward gate, just begs for some sort of animal griefing.

You know what's stupid you being outside your own palisade getting murdered because you couldn't open your own gate in time and evict the would be murderer foolish enough to follow you in.

Well this thread went downhill fast. Avu, i have TWO other outward facing gates. The inward gate i'm talking about i'm not going to be using, it's so my friend can get in whenever he needs, and if someone got the key, they can't switch the locks to troll me. And yeah, i may die "being outside my own palisade" becuase i'm not a wimpy idiot that hides behind my pali. How would i not be able to open the gate in time? Are you saying i shouldn't have an inward facing gate? Or did you just come here to be a jerk to me?

Also, i'm looking for something bad that slave keys do that master keys DON'T. Are there any extra downsides slave keys have VS master keys?

However, enemies can aggro you from outside of the pali and then come in, but you can simply kick them outside via right click, or hide in a house to let the combat disappear and they can not aggro you again once they are in the village

if they aggro you and run through the gate just evict them and they get KO and them kill them and make funny forum topic

If you don't have an inward gate the only way for you to get back to your base while in combat is to have a master key with you. Which is stupid. What Avu is saying is that one day the inward gate might save your life and actually is a good thing (as long as master key doesn't leave the base).

I guess I'd consider this bad? (Guess I should clarify my earlier post in that slave keys can only be used on the one side--the side that makes the gate open towards the "outward" direction. If you're outside, and your gate opens to outside, slave key is useless. If your gate opens to the inside, you slave key is useless while standing inside.)
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Which is why i'm using my outward gates to get outside, and leaving the inward one for my friend to get inside when needed. Ugh...

Have an outward and inward gate side by side both using the same lock. You use one to get in and one to get out while only carrying a slave key. If you die they can get it in sure and do some animal agro stuff but that's it, but it can save your life one day. When you die you can change your locks with the master key.
