Advice for Fist Fighting Aurochs

Today i killed a couple and they were very easy with sting. They dont even run too much.
Horses seem to be harder.
I have only been knocked out by a horse this world.

If you are using a horse just spam punch and then run, lower your openings, stack coins and sting him to death.

I like the new system.

i lost full leather set to my first auroch taming, so i rushed whrought iron, made 1 winged helm and 1 chainmail shirt... got a bit less stats than OP, but it was enough... also had a bat cape, sword and knuckles

I just had this idea passed onto me:

Take aim a to build up 3 IP, spam uppercuts to cause a yellow opening, and then spam side swipe for quick damage. If they get too much of an opening, use those 3 IP to use artful evasion, and then keep sideswiping.

I don't have artful evasion, but I'm planning on giving the idea a try.

Yeah, sideswipe is your best bet. Though you should definitely try to get a sword.

Right. Low blow makes green openings and generates IP. It's a bit slower cooldown, though.

I'm doing 25-30 dmg with chop at only around 25 STR and a q20ish stone axe. It's been good for finishing off bats and foxes. Haven't tried taking on anything bigger seriously yet. AGI is still a bit low as I haven't been pushing for it much.

Is everyone here opposed to boat hunting? You avoid most of the problems mentioned just because you have and easy way to get out of range of the animal and clear openings/ build ip.

You can't boat-tame (I think).

Things will get easier if you get a sword.
Go talk with neighbours and trade with them for bronze armor and gear. If your opening are below 40 you shouldnt get any damage. Remember to run until you cooldown is done and then lower openings or rise the animal one. As more points in every atack (5 max) the more effective it will be. With those stats, a horse and the gear this is a 30 or 50 seconds combat.

Punch for openings, normal defenses and sting, you dont need anything else. When i get home ill make a rollback in my drivers and ill try to make a video.
