Idk is it inherited? Either way crippling wretched gore+spending xp doesn't seem worth it, maybe quell should make the beast passive for a minute or so?

Animals don't make decisions immediately though. Seems to be on a tick, even when you are kiting them. Plus - Loftar didn't say it WILL aggro again on the first tick, you are quite speculating now. I would guess it works the same way when a bear downs you and stays close. When you get up, often you can walk away or jump to HF even staying very close to him.

Not 0% chance of death is better than 0% chance of death, even if you become death at end of trial.
