I had Lynx spawn inside my palisade walls. It was lying down on the ground when I logged in. I don't know if it was dead or not yet because it didn't have the red aggro ring around it. I ended up just putting some fencing around to block it off and then realized the next day it was dead... Not sure what to take of that.

If you have any open gates, it's possible that fleeing lynx ran into your base and bled to death.

Live animals don't lay down (currently.) Anyway, one universal way to make sure if animal is dead is to right-click it and see if skin/butcher menu opens.

I could have sworn I saw a boar lie down for just a second or two before. Anyways, I definitely didn't leave my gates open. It was very odd. Maybe there is some truth to OP's claim...

Some do have a "sitting" position when they're not moving. Boars are one I've seen. I can't say about others.

Most probably a player was passing by and pulled his hair off (it's not so horrible curio after all). Probably aurouch did not like it and ended up dead.

Jokes are fine, but try to avoid misinformation, please. Thanks. ;)

Someone that doesn't need more moderate quality bear meat... maybe the bear ran off and they weren't able to track it down... it's hard to say. Just remember that what is valuable to you might be someone else's junk.

But the skin too? I'm not complaining... I'm just genuinely curious if this was done without human intervention.

I've seen so many dead animals lately.... The Lynx that spawned and died inside my Pali walls still trips me out. This Bear was just icing on the cake for me.
