The mistake most people make is to try and run away from the falling rocks, often this results in them getting hit by multiple rocks and is the only way you can be killed by one provided you're not already injured.

If you are in a cave you can scape from a cave in by running, but if you are in a 1x1 tunnel your chances tend to zero.
Your body ocupies 1x2 tiles so you can only be hitted by 2 rocks maximum. If boulders hit you by a percentage of your maximum health, as some say, the only way to be killed is by being already damaged when mining without support.

Sure you can escape by running, but you can also escape by standing perfectly still which also mitigates any risk at all of taking multiple boulder hits.
That percentage of your maximum health is roughly 50% so why take any chances? I'd also suggest always mining with a mining helmet, regardless of how great you think you are at cavesweeper you can and will make a mistake somewhere along the line and I'd rather take 50% SHP damage and make a new helmet. If you need the str from bear cape, eat more pies.

Eat more pies, eat more cheese, eat more meat, eat more salt, 200 sips at a glass of wine, drink 20 to 30 liters of milk, drink tea for 15 min, drink beer for another 15 min, craft all the food, care with the symbel, share the food with the warriors, do hundreds of trials to attach shitty gildings that barely gives any bonuses to str and then use a helmet that is just useful if you dont melt the low q iron you will surely find for suports.
Nope, if you play regularly your food bonuses will be around 100% and the cape its basically what allows you to mine some areas or to do it faser. Helmets are shit.
