Hardest part about bait or lure fishing is finding the node. After that its a walk in the park.
Most eel and sturgeon I have found next to mountain area.
You can use entrails to catch both of them.
A good node will get you the fish you wanted pretty reliably. You have to use the data you get from bait fishing to assess the chance to catch a certain type.
Just a reminder one sturgeon is 3 filets and one eel is 2 so its quite a bit of fep.
And once you get enough str from fish you can mine for bronze and gild your set with fancy buckles.

Or you could cheese animals.

Spit roasting bats is great early on. There are enough small catchable critters now that getting your first set of leather armor isn't as bad as it used to be. There's also another animal that kills rabbits that you can scavenge from now. Fishing, as mentioned, is a lot better now as well.

You don't have to exploit animals if you don't want too, if you're okay with progressing slowly.

fried frog leg is good food for agi, it have 2 agi+1 and 1 per+1 FEPs basics.

it can catch extremly easliy than rabbit and bats too

catching rabbits is extremely hard without rabbit slippers. the slippers actually make you run faster while chasing rabbits, i notice quite the speed up. still, a small % get away

could always trade with other players, just collect a massive amount of blueberries :p

Clover a horse and run over rabbits for agi or run over swans for per.

Thanks everyone, I think I've got the idea now.

Horse + rabbit roadkill combined with frog legs isn't great but it's enough to get me over the hump to the point where I can kill bats.

I'm going to assume it's related to my biome, but I've only seen 1 chive after playing for a week. And that was right near where I spawned with very low stats.

They only grow in a specific dark-wald biome

early on dont bother making fishwraps or nutroast, unless all the ingredients provide FEPs to the same stat, it just makes it less likely the stat you want to rise will rise. im currently sitting around 40-60 with most of my stats, and found that simply catching tons of fish and not caring at all how full i am and simply eating several tables full of fish and whatever meat i find, worked quite well. farming isnt too bad really, get a bee skep and some crops will finish in as little as 1-2 days depending on your region buff (if you have one), one fantastic thing to grow for fast earlyish fp's is beetroots. dont eat them. make sweet beets with a bucket of honey and a boiling cauldron.

what region are you in? pm me if you want and i should be able to hook you up with various crops from like q20-60 to give you a little start, as long as you arent lightyears away from me.
