Good idea, but if you go by hit points this would allow stealing Knarrs by breaking them up to that point.

What you could do though is apply the same principal to knarrs as we have for pclaims/village claims, in that if they are off of a claim and are not sailed for 'x' amount of time, say a month, the lock could start to decay and be able to be picked ... if that is not too complicated a mechanic for devs to add.

There are so many abandoned knarrs now in the world and some have the most lovely sails, it seems such a shame to just have them sitting there idle and not be able to take them over.
