no. You have to tan the untanned rot (or at least that's what got me a progress bar. I'll try water on my next batch for science.) in tanning fluid like it was leather.

So, for me? My best bark Q is around 37 right now. My best rot Q can be upwards of 150. If I spiral it for a few cycles, I can produce tanning fluid with a much higher quality.

I haven't confirmed any of this, and the wiki had nothing when I discovered this item (after my vinegar discovery), so I'm learning along with everyone else here, but my hypothesis is that it's a more expensive way to produce high quality leather.

I'm gonna give it a go and if I like it, I've got a stack of 150q+ hides that are gonna soak in this stuff for my curiass.

even though I can produce Q100 tanning fluid with my current trees/water, I could probably produce exquisite rot around 200-250 depending what animal parts I put in.

So it's mostly for making nice cutthroat cuirasses and the like. Endgame stuff.

Just as a point--learning to work around the search functionality here will get you some surprising results. I only used "exquisite" since it is not used very often outside of literature or highfalutin discussions, and got this: viewtopic.php?f=42&t=50780&p=671482&hilit=exquisite#p671479

Very rarely is something not here and not on the wiki, though often for odd items they don't get stuck on the wiki right away (or even months).
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.
