You do know that you can abandon a credo pursuit, right? Not saying you should, but you make it sound as if you couldn't.

Yes, ofc I know that, I've abandoned so many during this credo!

The reason I'm reluctant to abandon this one is due to a) it being the last one of a set of 5, the others quests I've already completed not realising this heartwood tree one would prove so difficult to get, b) there is nothing to say it won't be replaced with an equally difficult one, c) It is the 5/6 and then the whole credo is done and d) I've spent so long on it now that a voice in my head keeps telling me that it must trigger soon! :)

I visit 5 (sometimes 6) heartwood tree's almost every play session, I make sure to trigger as many different lore experiences as possible in order to hope it makes it even more likely and tbh I kinda don't really care that much any more. :P

Not to say, ofc, that I won't be leaping around the room when and if I do get it, lol, but honestly this credo has made the novelty of them well and truly worn off!

I think instead of forcing you to repeat the previous level of a credos if you choose to cancel the current quest (because it is either impossible or taking too long) that it should cost an amount of LP or XP instead, so at least people wont have to wonder if they cancel this 1 quest because it is taking far too long would they just end up with 2 quests that are just as bad?

I'd be happy with that for sure! :)

I was referring to abandoning the entire credo and choosing another instead.

I must say having credos that are really hard to attain is great.
But there are also simple tactics to make credos take very small amount of time to get.
I used to do the no abandon thing with the idea that I might get a similar hard quest. But since recently I have learned to let go of this stupid idea.
As long as you don't exclude the majority of the tasks given you wont stay still for months in gaining a credo.

Right, well that seems like an awful waste of my time so far as I'm now at the end of it ... if it was the first or second set of quests then maybe, but after all this time and all the quests I have completed that really doesn't feel much like an option.

@ azrid ... I've abandoned repeatedly during this credo and I do keep getting similar quests, i.e. the more obscure lore events which I can never seem to get.

since i love tailoring and gildings, i think i may even go for tailoring after mystic, maybe...
Btw, i frequently abandon even normal quests wich gives me incredibly far away quest givers, and prolly i'll do the same with credos.

Not sure why people complain about mystic that much, I completed it on 2 different characters and never just pushed straight for it.
On my 1st character it took me 3 days to do it with I think 10 quests per level, it's all about determination.
On 2nd one it took about a week with 12 quests per level since I wasn't rushing it.

I don't call trying to get a lore event and waiting for one that never happens undetermined tbh. :P

Guess you were either very lucky or abandoned them all.
