What is the exact science of the Paint Sketch?

I just went into basic microsoft paint and edited my stuff by hand with the pencil tool and eyedropper/color selector tool, as i previously outlined. Beyond that, I feel it's overcomplicating things. I don't know anything about what skop was talking about

How do you keep a blank background with Microsoft paint? When ever i try to edit it with paint the blank background turns white.

Ah, not a clue. I forgot about that hiccup and none of my sketches have transparent areas. My limited experience with Paint.net suggests you should be able to use the same basic pencil tool strategy i do, but retain transparency. there's just a lot more tools and options to work around

Managed to use GIMP to turn images into Haven-colored ones which would allow more intelligent conversion if Iäd know how to use this software. I don't even know how to add letterboxes so that the image wont get stretched into a square.
