You're supposed to right-click him.

You realize this is 'buy a different computer' for apple users as these things don't have a right mouse button?

Most of the dev support information I've ran across on this mentions needing to have remappable keys. Given ctrl+click is a specific command in Haven, there's a conflict.

It would be reasonable for Apple to fix their "non-standard" conventions, but we see how well other companies follow such advice.... would i be talking about Microsoft or Oracle or such like this?

Alright, I'll try to see if there's an imput emulator. I'm sorry for Apple fans, but their stupid policies aren't a good trade-off for better machines. Screw Apple!

Oh, right. I thought Macs were supposed to have right-clicking these days, though?

When I bought my first Mac in 2003, my flatmate bought me a Microsoft three-button mouse the next day (this is possibly the kind of thing that counts as a joke if you are studying for an MEng and about to get a job designing the first cameraphones, idk). This has continued to be a cheap and effective solution ever since (replacement mice have not been Microsoft branded! Any USB mouse works!).

These days, for EVERY OTHER thing I use my computer for, either ctrl-tap or cmd-tap on the touchpad is functionally equivalent to using the RMB. As cmd-tap / cmd-click has no function in Haven I had basically been assuming for the last several years that it is some sort of philosophical objection to Macs on your part, and had been thinking a brief 'fuck you' in the general direction of Sweden every time I end up buying a new mouse because I've left the last one somewhere and the chickens need feeding.

To be quite honest, I had assumed that, to the extent that Cmd/Ctrl-click (whichever it is) works as right-click, that was a built-in translation in the OS.

However, even if I wanted to fix that, I can't help but note that there is no COMMAND_DOWN_MASK in AWT, so not entirely sure about that, unless it so happens that it maps to something else. Google returns no obvious results about it, though, and I obviously don't have a Mac myself to test on.

Also, again, I thought right-clicking was generally supported on Macs since some time back, what with the Mighty Mouse and all? No?

The fact is, I have the regular one I think, which doesn't have a right button to click

All I know from my distinctly non-technical background is that in [everyday word-processing shit] I use cmd-c etc instead of ctrl-c etc. I use cmd-click to open a link in a new tab of my web browser. I use ctrl-click to do RMB stuff like get a bunch of choices about opening a link in a new window or whatever.

BUT IN HAVEN, the ctrl key works exactly the way it does on a Windows computer. I'm not currently using Java for anything else that might need a ctrl-click or RMB functionality, so I don't know if it's a Haven thing or a Java thing. I can try some stuff if anyone has any specific examples of other Java things that need a right-click? (I think I used to be able to play Runescape without a mouse if I REALLY wanted to? Am I remembering that right?).

My three-button mouse cost £10 including postage. Just saying.

If it is supposed to Ctrl-clicking, then that does seem to pose a bit of a problem since, as others have already pointed out, Ctrl-clicking is already used for other things in Haven.
