another tip: be sure to set disable all permissions for white (unknown) players. I've had the opportunity to romp over some claims without buying any crime skills because of this. (i'm 90% sure this was the case, and it wasnt due to claim poles drying)

It does nothing during those 8 hours

You can mouse over the "presence" meter to see how much time remains IIRC.

Even with a claim it's not likely to do anything considering how easy it is to get trespassing and rage now.

Combat alts at this point are already up to 50+ UA with rage/trespassing

Geez, how much do people play this game?!
I log on every few hours to find my stuff stolen sometimes, and that's even before I have any sign of my base on the map.
Now I made the dumb mistake of plowing some land right after setting up my first claim. I hope claims aren't easy to destroy, because now more people will see my base (aside from people who may have marked it on their map already).
Fun fact, I caught somebody walking around in my base today, but they didn't steal anything because I didn't have anything worth stealing. Hopefully people won't knock down my claim so they can continue to get free hides when I'm away.

How long does it take to knock down a claim with 10 strength, and can it be repaired while it's damaged?

The claim totem itself? It has 15 soak, so forever and a day unless you have a lot of STR. For an item still drying, it builds soak slowly, so it really depends.

It's more about friends feeding each other and knowing how to focus growth.

The wiki says it has 0 soak the whole time it's drying, I think.
But how long would it take to destroy at 0 soak? A couple minutes or a couple hours? And is it possible for me to repair it while somebody is attacking it?
I don't have the combat necessary to take on anybody who's attacking my claim, nor do I know how combat works, so that's not an option.

That's going to depend on the person trying to break it. Damage dealt is sqrt (str) + tool damage; +1 for stone axes (doubt anyone has a pick yet). It could take just a few seconds for someone with really high strength (not likely yet this world) to several minutes for someone with just above basic strength.

yes, you could potentially repair it, but one of you is going to run out of patience. If they're that willing to remove your claim, best to just pack a couple of important things and look elsewhere to settle.

I'm assuming that equation is for damage per second. If that's the case, the average dps should be 5 or 6, so it should take 40 to 50 minutes to destroy the 15000 hp of the personal claim. Plus they'll need to keep getting water because destroying objects takes stamina, right?
I think it's possible to defend your claim with a little bit of hunting.

Edit: Never mind. The wiki says the claim takes 10 times damage while drying, so it should only take 4 or 5 minutes to destroy. This would definitely not be a winning battle for the owner of the claim.
