Not to necro, but I'm having the same issue. See the stone, see the ring, nothing is clickable after spam clicking everything for 5 minutes.

Unable to be placed on a herb table, don't think wasting 2-3 of them on food is a good idea when nobody knows what they do yet, I have some suspicions about their relation to some of the newer 'objects' in this world and I'll be following through with them.

They have their own set qualities as far as I can tell. I've got several from different rings and of varying quality picked with 30+ survival with no stat change between picks.

Could have been already picked or you're missing the mushroom.

I just got 8 of them, gonna do some tests and report back if I figure anything out.

Surely they've got more purpose than just boosting mushroom related food.

Tried using on a bloody Monolith and an Irminsul to no effect.
