For hunting,I would suggest pure MC with either sideswipe/shieldup or QB/Cleave/parry. Cleave allows you to avoid animal fleeing where sideswipe tends to do the highest DPM. Parry scales well with cleave (opens blue to compliment the red for QB), but the additional defensive weight from shield up is better for PvE hunting IMO.

For PvP it gets much more complicated, but most of the good manouvers are UA based, and most openers are also UA based. Since attacks requiring weapons don't consult MC for damage calculations, pure UA is better.

That being said, if you're not training the character specifically for PvP combat, a mix will make you survivable in more situations. I usually run 4MC/3UA, which allows me to mix and match openers and attacks.

You say melee weapon weight should have sword and shield icon, but this doesn't seem to be the case for Quick barrage and pretty much all other weapon-weighted attacks.

There is no sword and shield icon.

I have only 3 maneuvers, and 1 attack with sword and shield icon. And that is full circle. Are these the only attacks impacted by MC?

I think you misunderstand. On weapon itself e.g. ''bronze sword,'' if you hover over this one to get tooltip, it should have sword and shield icon.

So this is meaning bronze sword will use your MC as attack weight for moves that are ''weighted by weapon.''

Melee pretty good to clean dungeons, high defence with shield, or make openings on all emeny by parry make it simple with combinations with "shtorm of swords" and "full circle", that aoe attaks can kill many enemyes by 1 time. Iits way to solo dungeons, also after storm of swords you can spum sideswipe and do realy high DPS on fat enemy like mammoth. Its melee uses, but if yoy want pvp you must rise unarmed much as possible and use b12, " flex" and "knock tooths with out" is way to win in openings, and then you dont need melee to smash armored player by cleave
