yeah, if i have food/table/bonefire good enough to give me stat up at the same rate on 200% as i would on 300% then sure, but otherwise its a waste of resources

If you've got the food production, eat when you can. Better to eat when you're not satiated rather than wait for 300% and end up not getting to eat much because you quickly hit 50% or worse. If you don't have the production, most definitely save up.

Optimally no. But then again optimally you're questing constantly to keep yourself low in 300% at all times.

Low energy use characters will eat between 300-200% depending how much the person plays. Generalist characters usually eat in the 200%-150% ranges, and hard working miners tend to eat up to 100% and get sad with life.

also dont "feast", satiation means you need to eat various things at various times
