All of those can be solved by preparing properly before winter.

Even if you take "preparation for the winter" as a valid in-game activity seriously (which one, probably, should in an ideally balanced game) -- it just packs the other 3 seasons with activities, but it does not remove the ultimate boringness and emptiness of winter gameplay.

But you still can hunt, you still can build, some minor foraging is possible, abovementioned questing, you can fish and eat... Farming activities are indeed on halt for a week, but week isn't too long... This is my first HnH winter though, but so far I don't feel that I have nothing to do. Though foraged curiosities are now low.

I play as farmer in my village and I still have plenty to do.

You can only hunt so much until your processing facilities are booked up for several days. You can build only underground because SNOW. You can quest only untill all your questgivers are stuck at unaccomplishable quests requiring IT NOT BEING WINTER. And all this takes, like, a day or so. Out of TEN (not "a week" you filthy casual XD, full 10 days!)
So, basically, you can forage for useless crap or eat yourself into a food coma. 'Tis the season.

Mostly fish and make food. Organize some area of village. Build thing. Just normal task I would be doing when I am not farming, really. Farming is job that take maybe 10 minute every day or two? Most of my gameplay is not spend picking and planting crop even in other season.

Looks like I live in too organized settlement. Our food supply (both cooked and raw ingredients avaliable in winter like fish) is packed, things are organized and there is not much to build :<
I guess I'll just keep browsing the forum then.

I play in small group, so some thing which are labor intensive take long for us to do because we do not have surplus of labors. In next few winters, maybe there will be less of this to do once we have big stockpile of foods and all building is done already.

So someone else is tree farming and birchsap/maplesap collecting? Can do those easily through winter, just need a shovel to clear snow off the ground first.

Edit: Stockpiled fruit +snow turns into a sorbet factory once you tap either trees. It takes planning during the last few days of fall but sustains mining well if set up.
