How to use sign posts to teleport with a boat

Here's a better example with proper connection placement.

Mine is set up just like that but it wont let me teleport because theres no space, ill try with a smaller boat since im thinking the signs dont give enough clearance for a snekkja even with best location

EDIT: it works with a rowboat just not a snekkja, and the teleport position is a bit random, sometimes it spits me closer to the coast, sometimes a bit farther away

Wanted to make a new post for this but i got it to work with my Snekkja only sometimes, i think the random landing position is the problem and its attempting to put me to close to the shore sometimes

Oh alright that makes sense, so I guess the Snekkja's hitbox is likely the reason for that then. I suppose you could try and mitigate that as much as possible by placing the end connection at a point where the arrow lands somewhere that has the least amount of land surrounding it but you might be stuck with that depending on the location.

Maybe the arrow for a stone milestone is also further away from the milestone connection, allowing for a greater radius to land at but I don't remember if it has the same tile distance between the milestone and arrow as wood.

FYI you can make a two-way road with both ends being a roadsign and use it with boats and snekkjas (haven't tried knarr but probably also works), just gotta rotate the endpoint roadsigns properly and approach them from the correct angle. Also gotta make sure there's enough space in the water on both ends.
What rotation and what approach angle I haven't noted exactly but trial and error and you'll get it.

If it works sometimes you can definitely figure out what your rotation and angle of approach is when it works and it'll always work. It's not random.
