What's the difference with milestones and road signs?

You can teleport from milestones, but not from roadsigns. The only exception is if your teleport ended at a roadsign and not a milestone (either because there is no milestone at the end or something was blocking the way) - they you get "waylaid" buff which lets you teleport from road signs for a limited time.

A tip: if you have a road from your camp to some area and don't want other people to be able to travel from that area to your camp then simply do not build a milestone at that area - let the road end with a roadsign.

But is it possible for other players to create a milestone then connect it in the end of my milestone?

How do I tell if a calf is a bull or a cow? The window title just says Bull.
