According to the last patch:

Claims only begin accumulating authority eight hours after construction. Claims no longer start at negative authority, but instead at zero.

You need to wait 8 hours after building the claim. At that point, it should start accumulating presence normally, or you may refill it from your LP.

I will note that I have seen one complaint that they are unable to refill their claim even after about 16 hours, so there may be a bug.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

For silk related skills (druidic rites, etc.), do I need to just unravel the cocoons for the bonus or do I need to take them out of the herbalist table/cupboard/whatever as well?

skills affect anything where your character produces something new. silk worms are created by the tables, so they aren't affected by skills. silk filaments are crafted by your character, so there the skills matter.

That's what I thought but I keep hearing that for ore it is the person that originally mined the ore the one that gets the bonus effects so maybe it'd be something like that as well.

yeah, because that person created the ore by mining a wall. in the ore case, who puts it in the smelter doesn't matter because it's the smelter that creates a new item.

Is there a bloody god damn option to just "dump all" trough relatable items from inventory to trough instead of shift-right clicking? I know some custom client do it auto-- but it takes A LOT longer then shift-right clicking... ?

Still need to clickspam the wheelbarrow though? At best scroll out into a stockpile beforehand. But tbh my mousewheel/middle-mouse-button is starting to get worn out from havening and saleming previously.
