I've tried looking but there are too much info on planting trees to sort out... so:

1. Is there an ideal tree for planting? I mean, for wood. I was considering King's Oak or Maple (because they seem to yield a lot of wood) but they might grow slower or something like that, so I was wondering if is there any 'research' on the most effective (time + yield) tree for wood farming.

Also,

2. Where can I find Planewood and Hazel trees more commonly? I've never seen a Planetree and I need some for a construction project...

What's the best way to farm wax and what crops should I focus on (and related food recipes for them)?
I've been having overlapping hives and they are kind of not doing anything.

If you want lots of wax, stick to carrots. They make good fodder, too.

Hives mechanics are a bit odd. One hive for a large field of carrots isn't enough. I'd say one hive per 70ish tiles of carrots growing, maybe as low as 50, as high as 100. Having more hives might not speed up growth enough, but having only one will be mostly ineffective in speeding up a lot of carrots.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Should I physically separate the radiuses or separate the carrot batches by 6/12/24h or just plant everything in the same spot and call it a day?

I'm currently testing this out. I will measure how much honey and wax I get per growth cycle with 1 skep 2,3,4, and 5 skeps keeping as many tiles covered each cycle as possible per skep. Also it seems that the carrots are all growing at close to the same rate with just 1 skep, this leads me to believe that 1 hive is doing the job just fine. However I can't be sure till the testing is done.

Sorry the bottom row isn't complete, I did run out of gneiss...

When hammering bloom into wrought iron at an anvil, is the wrought softcapped by strength x smithing?

What are the stats of the CTC on Hafen? I've noticed Leather Armor is slightly nerfed, is the CTC too? Could someone tell me your CTC quality and stats, please?

plane trees are mostly found on grasslands (in my little corner anyway). hazel on leafy forests (with the autumny looking soil).

the wiki is pretty up to date on trees, new info is coming constantly. all trees seem to grow at the same speed (a list of tested ones is in the discussion on the tree page), including king's oak. you may also need high quality boughs at some point though, so it could be better to pick an overall good yield tree. i like spruce because it gives a decent amount of everything: boughs, tar, branches, and logs (and i like their textures in most cases).

Alternate clients can make finding specific trees and bushes much easier. Also, if you're planning on building with hazel, you'll need many trees as planks/blocks per tree is rather low.

Not an answer, but similar question - If you leave bloom in a finery forge too long, will it turn to slag? I couldn't find an answer on the wiki so thinking maybe that batch just had bad luck.

yeah, bloom turns to slag after 1-2 hours.

wrought is softcapped by strength * smithing, with a slight chance of reducing or increasing the qualities of the end product.
