Before waste and of my meager resources I have a palisade construction question. On the Wiki it states that I only have to build one corner post outright and then can extend it all the way around to the other side making one gate. Is this still accurate?

If the above is accurate, supposing I want to have two gates with each on opposite sides of the compound, would I then only have to build two corner posts outright and extend the rest?

this page is up to date. i don't think there's any mention of that on there.

How long does chickens and/or chicks survive in storage/inventory and can I reset their timers by releasing them and recatching them as the legacy page says?

And what biomes count as forest biomes for tree growth speed?

You dont need to bother about biome, when growing the trees will transform tils around in tils of the biome they like. In 3 or 4 generations, you'll have almost all tills changed in your tree field.
If you plant the trees of the second generation in the tills that been changed by your first generation trees, only the first generation wil have to suffer from the not-right-biome delay.

Quick question for those with lots of domesticated animals: I know you need to leave some milk for the little ones to drink, but can it be mixed milk? I.e. can I dump all the milk into one barrel, or do i need to keep sheepsmilk for lambs and cowmilk for calves?

It is far from complete, but if you're lucky you may find some spot you're familiar with.

Tagging along with the domesticated animal questions...

I recently put up my palisade which took a lot of leveling leaving a lot of bare earth inside my compound. I have some sheep in there and I have heard that leaving them on bare earth will reduce their quality. If this is the case should I plant grass or wait for the natural biome to recover?

I have not run into this problem with dirt and cows.
but if you are consurn you can take any seed and use the seed to plant grass.

With the changes to palisade costs, locks and keys, it's quite cheap and easy to build multiple gates all locked with the same key. Only the first corner post is costly.

Does the Q of the fuel used on steel crucibles have an effect on the Q of the steel? or is it just the two pieces of coal you put in with the wrought?
