Do not have them leashed or tied to a post, just let them roam freely inside of a stick fence, or whatever

Wow, nice tip.

How do animals despawn?

Yes, so keep an alt handy on screen when you're looking for rams

I just get a ton of clovers together and like 3 rams into a pen and harvest their wool, turn it into yarn and then cloth

82 wool = a necro robe and a LS hat early world, which is an insane int boost

You can use dried squirrel tails to make poultices (it counts as hide while crafting).

Usually you can also get higher quality squirrels by killing them in combat rather than just picking them up.

Can you use a wheelbarrow while riding a horse carrying a cupboard and dragging a cart?

to go with wearing two sets of nettle gear, you can also wear 2 ashen robes for double int :D

edit: believe it works with lawspeaker robes and merchant robes (you dont get double inventory increase though)

Control + right click lets you memorize a pclaim owner
The command also works for memorizing people's hearthfires

This is probably well known, but I'll post it anyways.
If you're hunting from a boat and having a hard time getting animals to sit still you can use the attack button to agro them, so that you can line up a shot with your bow.

if you have aggroed an animal and you want to shoot it, just right click the animals icon in the top right of the screen. you will shoot right at it instead of having to finick around its feet.
