Question remains if it is arithmetic or geometric average, or even some other average where cubic roots of aspects are multiplied by each other. These types of averages increasingly punish you for having low essence, substance or vitality.

With arithmetic, 40-40-40 and 10-100-10 would be identical averaging at 40 , with geometric former would still be 40 average but latter 32. The third one would only be around 20 (don't have my good calculator at hand.)

It's all preference. The more animals you keep, the more births given and the more chances to get high gains on that animal's quality. If you don't care about absolute top q and just want to make meaningful gains on quality, I'd say 3-5 females is a pretty respectable number.

Scents are no longer used to summon criminals. Rather, punishable scents prevent the outlaw from logging out for the duration of the scent.

How do you send a kin request to someone on screen but do not have the Hearth Secret for?

Pretty utra-noob/basic functionality question, however, I cannot seem to find the answer. Others constantly send me requests, but I have no idea how. Right clicking on someone on screen gives a bunch of options but none seem to send a kin request.

right click > memorize, then right click > make kin or something. you have to memorize them before you can kin.
