I place cock above hen and now hen has layed an egg. So does cock has to be above hen or anywhere as long it is in the coop?
Also I know there has to be space below hen so it would lay eggs and also eggs have to be bellow the hen so they would hatch. But the chicks can be placed anywhere, right?

Cock position shouldn't matter. Moving an egg won't let it hatch. You can move chicks and they should grow if there's 2x2 room around them.

I'm going to guess chickens require a warm-up period when newly caught before they lay eggs or something.

The"warm-up period" wasn't in the legacy. Must be a new feature and also can Jorb confirm it himself?

But it was. I rarely had a wild chicken lay its first egg 24 hours of putting it in a coop, which is about how frequently they lay one. It has always taken 1-3 days for the first eggs to show up. The third day is the longest I've had to wait, at least, I certainly don't recall waiting longer than that.

How long does it take for a chick to grow into either hen or cock?

honey and wax increase independently of eachother.

Alright so I don't have to, to collect honey if I don't need it, great.
