Also, why isn't this thread stickied yet?!

Well, it is technically... The link to this thread is in a stickied thread called H&H Guides now.

I do miss it being on the How Do I homepage though, it made it easier for me to check if there were new posts

Since not enough people seem to read the stickies anyway we decided to reduce them a bit, so as there is now more room on the first page of HDI for regular threads this one not showing up shoudn't be a problem.

You can also let yourself being notified in case of new posts.

Candelabrums can light things like fires and cauldrons, and they burn for some crazy amount of time so you can use them as moveable, low maintenance flames

You can chop trees while in a wagon or a boat if you position yourself properly

I wouldnt really consider this a protip, but its interesting info and maybe someone can use it:

I dont know why it works, but if you're trying to spread a biome type, terraforming one tile(i use stomp dirt on a dirt tile) will occasionally cause biomes to spread. you cant do it more than once in a row without waiting several hours/ a day, but it might speed things up if you're consistent with it
Have a question? Need help? Tired of people asking questions? Haven and Hearth Wiki.

Biome spreading with dirt tiles is decay based, not leaving the area (and never logging off) helps - sadly.

You can right click a 2*2 piece of dried hide and split it into 4 1x1 pieces

This works for making things like Still Life curios, because each scrap counts as 1 hide

To go one step further, just crafting such an item while having a hide bigger than 1x1 in your inventory used for something that needs only one piece of hide will cause it. It's been the source of a few questions over time. Can't use the scraps for leather at this point in time, though.

Ugh.

That explains a lot, quite the useful tip.
