Hello, its me again :o
today i would like to know...why do we pave under palisades / buildings? will there still be decay, and with paving it will further reduced ? (speaking of buildings on a claim)

and while we are at it,
how to feed tamed horses, just put them near a trough with food in it?
greetings

:?: How can I spread highground biomes?
Here's a picture of Highground:

Image

From the wiki (ringofbrodgar.com/wiki) it reads,
As they grow, trees convert natural tiles around them into the forest biome they're planted on. If it's not growing on a forest tile, it will create a generic type of forest called "wald".

And I found that these trees are supposed to belong to the Highground biome:
Ash Tree
Birch Tree
Goldenchain Tree
Oak Tree
Pear Tree
Plum Tree
Willow Tree

Highground seems more like a grassy hill or a meadow rather than a forest.

So, if I plant these on a Highground, are they supposed to spawn a Wald or extend the Highground as they grow?

Thank you.

Those are the "found in" terrains for world generation. Anywhere else they are planted just spread the wald terrain if it isn't already forest.

As I understand it, things on a claim do not decay.
As well as things on pavement not decaying or slower.

A lot of people plan things like palisades ahead, before being able to claim the floor they are on, so they will need to pave in order to stop decay.
People tend to do it for looks and good measure too.

And also, sometimes (at least when I do it) it is easier and safer to first plow and pave the layout, then simply build the palisade on top of the paved line. That makes it easier to track, and also - to make sure you can actually work (build) on top of those tiles at all.

To spread grassland you'll need to convert all the bordering area surrounding it to dirt, and it will spread out into the dirt area slowly
If you plant trees it'll just make wald unless you're planting the trees on a forest biome

Yes. Penalties from wounds and healing items are only temporary.
