Did put 1 block in the tar killn this night after 3h it was still burning. AFter i woke up arround 11h after i did put it in it was done. so it finished somewhere inbetween. But that effort to get 2 coal(cuz 1 woodblock) will result in a tar killn spam.
to bad we cat use the tar (tar branches) for selters too.

How it possible than that mine is working for 18h and still nothing... How it looks when its done working? Where to get coal from it?

Didnt make a screenshot, but basicly the tar doesnt run anymore and the wood pile looks like a big black coal pile, then u just right click it and gather the coal till its empty.

No, sometimes it does just take extremely long. My tar kiln took like 3 days to finish for a couple blocks of wood. Got only two coal from it. I did use Mirkwood, maybe that was the issue.

I have built 8 Tar Kilns and still none finished. 5 of them was loaded with 5 block (each different type) and 2 of them is 24+h already and rest is 12h+.

Jorb can you please explain how is it working? Because its makes all our team mad and me since I was going to mining/metal working my activity it going down since I cant progress for last 4 days. What they point to make such things so players cant use it?

I'm stuck as well as long as I don't get charcoal. I'm not even logging in atm because I simply can't progress.

It's a minimum 3 days to finish burning from what I've heard (sorry I think that was a full one). Finding an underground coal vein is your best bet since I think that can be used in place of charcoal.

It's possible they're burning full length when they're not supposed to according to loftar.

That is a little excessive I'll agree. Longest wait haven1 had was 7 days for pumpkins.
