I've build my house on top of iron ochre with same intention of trying to mine it out from the cellar, but got only shist.
IDK maybe cellar placement point is crusial, and the cellar's instance generates stones based on that tile.

Only if we legitimately don't know the answer.

You will get the nearest stone type (coal is considered a stone) if you place your house over an ore vein.


Tested. And can confirm that you will get nearest stone.

Theoretically we can use this to produce infinite stone, which can be converted to dirt, which makes more trees, which means we've officially created infinite wood production. Dirt is no longer a finite resource. Or at least, only limited by our metal production.
