is there a skill between metallurgy(15k) and the 150k skill? if so what is it called and what are the prerequisites? i have already unlocked metallurgy but i dont see any other metal skills

No. Maybe in future updates but for now that's it.

so what is the prerequisite for the final 150k metal skill? its called artifice or something right? do i need to unlock jewelry to see it?

No, Metallurgy and Basic Mechanics.

My experience is actually weird too. My sample size is limited for sure, but it seems to me that the characters that play with me that mine the ore without the extra skills routinely get more iron than the characters with them. Seems weird. I ran 6 loads through the smelter today, with tunneling but not the 150k skill, and got 1 bar each. Yesterday a character without tunneling did 4 batches, got 3, 3, 6, 2.
