Well my cousin has $750 rig and he gets slightly below 60fps.
I'm running on:
  • Display weather
  • Fragment lightning
My cousin has everything turned on.

So I guess it varies from GPU to GPU, perhaps some modern cards don't handle HnH's engine functions well...

about 20FPS with that card isn't that bad - considering DDR3 videoram connected at 64 Bit only ...

... it only can get better ... i'm at it :)

The game play improved greatly for me after I installed more RAM. I had serious lag before that.

Yeah I remember playing eve online with 2GB. I remember almost having heart attack after it lagged while I was piloting my 2 000 000 000 ISK battleship lol.
The 4GB RAM seems like enough for any processor I will be able to plug into that motherboard.

You underestimate weirdness of some manufacturers. I have intel HD 3000 graphics (way newer than your granny). It was hell playing hafen with 4 Gb, since intel itself or may be java or incompatible with my hardware graphic memory management by J&L produce some sort of memory leak. Now I bought additional 8 Gb and game crashes 1-2 (versus old 10+) times a day. Very impressive progress, I could say.

Not entirely. This GPU works fine in lot of games. Its IntelGPU+java or IntelGPU+code. Could be intelGPU+openGL, wonder were can I test it.

Intel graphic drivers for windows are known to be not very OGL friendly ...

I have been playing hafen on debian for some time (period of performance optimisations, which forced me to buy additional RAM). Well, there are problems too. They are not so obvious since Debian leave more resources for the game, but still, crashes happens there too.
