I was going to use basalt, bloodstone and iron ocre for the mountain itself to give it a stone look with cracks through which you see lava or something like that with a tiny cemetery next to tower
and plant some poplars on the hill sides here and there as they are the closest u can get to dead trees as they have much less foliage as all the other trees.
Now I have to rethink all that i guess. It is for sure not a practical place to use, there's no surface on top, pretty much all taken by tower and almost no flat surface anywhere except for where the road turns at corners where i have small 4 x 4 flat spaces. It is huge, has a 30 x 30 base , it is 7 tiles high with each tile fully maxed in elevation, the pyramid\mound is about as high as the height of the tower, it took a huge amount of dirt hehe.

You can demolish the old tower by hand if not too much time have passed. Also take a look at cedar as decorative trees - it has very twisted trunk and may fit your theme. And cherries/plums could fit black/red color as well.

Both plums and juniper has way less foliage than poplar then. proof)
UPD: Oh, man, demolish that! Those toxic yellow wood won't fit any theme))

Well i like the light green of the bay willow, would have looked better and somewhat sickly if tower would have come out the way it was supposed to, which is what i wanted.
I'n keeping the tower, not demolishing and rebuilding. will improvise something.

weird, my tower have basalt columns but i feel they look differently than that... maybe the colour of other stones makes it look different.
