I'm trying mane but hermitting even half the attributes is tough, and bat/fox/boar meat was so juicy last world. Between bow nerf and UA/MC shenanigans I'm on a strict squirrel diet

Oh well, guess I'll just get 100AGI so I can take a bunch of acid burns and keep on truckin

I've been killing foxes and bats with <20 UA and <20 AGI, all without using marksman. It's slow, you can't kill many at a time, but you can find ways. (Tried a mouflon a couple days ago... it kicked my ass, even using a cave to get restorations.) Just try to keep openings closed up with restorations so you don't take more than a few SHP at a time, and you shouldn't take much in the way of any wounds needing actual first aid.

But if you're killing that many squirrels and rabbits, shouldn't be too hard to get some armor going making it that much easier.

Besides, you can go down 20-30 HHP from hunting during the day and you'll be almost completely healed by morning. Never-mind if there's yarrow in your locality as that stuff is legitimately a heal-potion for small wounds.

Actually, with the latest patches taming seems to be working reliably only without boulder walls (otherwise animals don't give up a fight). Which actually makes sense IMO. You want to show a bull who's the daddy here? Go and punch him good, but don't expect it to be easy. :)

Nicks & Nacks and Scrapes & Cuts aren't much of an issue, they heal fast and you can grow yarrow in gardening pots to remove them instantly. Just keep like 20 pots going and you'll be more than fine.

I personally use MC cause of 250% weight on Shield Up maneuver (or whatever it's called). And also that restorations does not scale with UA (as were blocks before), so you need UA/MC only for attack/maneuver weight. And with Shield Up i feel pretty good hunting boars/mouflon/aurochs without exploiting at 40+8 MC/25UA.

UA, imo, is much more flexible and end-game/pvp viable because of maneuvers like Oak Stance, Meditation and Bloodlust. While MC gives nice tanking with shield (maybe i`ll try parry/barrage/cleave, but i don`t have the last one).

The thing with Barrage/Parry build is you want Flex with it as well, and you need UA for that one :/

Regarding Yarrow: you can grow this in garden pots at the low cost of initial 10 Clay (plus some time and sticks for burning them) and then 4 Soil + 1L Water per 1-2 of them (as one is used to replant) with guaranteed delivery in 3 days.

And you can build as many as you want of them...

One of the factors could be - when you look at available gilding options and rings/dhelm bonuses right now it's easier to gear for MC than for UA. Add 250% bonus of shield up and you get an easier way to build up a char for hunting.

On the other hand, I am not sure how soon we'll get gold. It's already hard enough to dig on level 2 and Jorb said hardness should be even higher on level 3 than it used to be. So rings/dhelm might be prolonged.
